Start with a sourcing trip
- Choose New trip and enter the travel date and pickup location. The trip title updates automatically.
- Add fuel, other travel costs, and total travel time.
- Add your purchases. A pair kept together can be one inventory entry.
- Choose an equal split or a split by purchase price, review the allocations, and save.
Each linked piece includes its saved share of the trip's costs and travel time. Reopen and save the trip to update its purchases or allocation.
Back up your inventory
- Open Inventory in midz.
- Open the menu marked with three dots.
- Choose Export inventory backup and save the JSON file somewhere you can find again.
A full backup includes inventory, trips, work entries, general business expenses, and the app’s saved photo copies. CSV exports are for spreadsheets; use a full backup to restore records and photos.
Move records to another device
Transfer the exported backup, then choose Restore inventory backup from the Inventory menu on the receiving device. Matching records are updated and other records are kept. Export a backup of the receiving device first if it already contains records you want to preserve.
Export a spreadsheet
In Inventory, open the three-dot menu and choose Export spreadsheet (CSV). Select All inventory, Completed sales, or General business expenses. Open the saved file in Numbers or Excel.
Photos and camera access
Choose Choose from library or Take photo in a piece’s photo section, then save the item to keep your changes. If camera access is denied, open your iPhone’s Settings, find midz, and allow Camera access. Photos are optional; you can keep tracking inventory without them.
Understand your profit
Owner labor is an estimate based on logged time and the hourly rate saved for the piece. At $30 per hour, ten minutes represents $5 of owner labor. A blank rate is treated as zero. Views labeled “before owner labor” do not subtract this estimate.
Potential profit uses asking prices for unsold inventory; it is not realized income. General overhead and taxes are excluded unless a report explicitly includes the relevant business expenses.
Apple subscriptions
For purchases made through Apple, open your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions, then select midz to view the available management or cancellation options. See Apple’s cancellation instructions. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription. For a billing issue or refund request, visit Apple’s purchase support.
